A Future Black Elk Page Coda

At this writing, my patient website designer, Daniel Saez, and I are getting close to launching the website where this blog will appear.  I'm very excited about that — and also aware that I've not done all that I'd planned to do for the site, especially regarding Black Elk.

I'd intended to include a coda on the Black Elk page where I would add some of the stories and facts of Black Elk's amazing life that didn't fit into the scope of my article, which aimed to illuminate his purpose in speaking to the English-speaking world though John Neihardt.

I'd like to illustrate Black Elk's wisdom, humility, courage, and unwillingness to give up in spite of extreme deprivations.  Black Elk was extraordinarily resourceful, and he was very good at whatever he set his mind to do.  He witnessed so much illness and death.  He lost family members, friends, and countless members of the vast Lakota community whom he felt responsible to.  Yet he persevered through decades of cultural genocide and personal losses.

But I've not started to write that coda.  Now, I'm hoping that visitors to my website will send me comments and questions, perhaps telling me what they would like for me to write about.  So I am hereby formally inviting you to do that.  :-)  please send me a message on the Contact page.
